LONG SERVICE AWARD

1. SCOPE AND APPLICATION
1.1 The Governing Body and LEA wishes to recognise those employees who have completed 25 years service in Local Government, of which at least 15 years have been with Lambeth.
1.2 The award will apply to all employees (whole and part time who have completed 25 years service in Local Government (including the ILEA). Breaks in service will be ignored and entitlement will be based on aggregated service.
2. PURPOSE
2.1 To recognise those employees who have spent a considerable part of their working life with the school and LEA
3. PROCESS
3.1 The value of the long service award is £100 . This will be paid to the employee by a cheque for the full amount. Headteachers should monitor their employees service records, identify those employees eligible to receive a long service award, and make the necessary arrangements for payment.
3.2 A personal congratulatory letter should also be sent, signed by the chair of governors to the employee.
