Membership Information to Reps:
We have recently received a new membership list
following all the changes in the Autumn. However, we can never be sure it is
100% accurate.
In practice, there are inaccuracies due to:
- members not informing the rep that they are NUT
members.
- members transferring in from other boroughs and not
updating their membership details.
- members not informing HQ of their change of school.
- change of name
- members lapsing
Soon, you will recieve new lists of members on site.
Please check the details carefully and inform the Lambeth Association of any
changes in the membership.
Please look at the list and return it with any
alterations to:
Ray Sirotkin Lambeth NUT, c/o Unison,
First Floor, Blue Star House
234-244 Stockwell Road
SW9 9SP
or e-mail to:
union@lta.demon.co.uk
Accurate records held by us and by Hamilton House are
important, not least for ensuring that ballot papers go to the right people
when need arises.
Thanks to those reps who have already responded to
requests. |
Lambeth NUT Reps
We are pleased to say that we can now boast reps in
about 90% of Lambeth Schools. As a rep you should receive the following:
- Reps News mailings, including meetings notices at
least once a month.
- Lambeth Teacher, one for every NUT member,
each half-term.
- (by now) the reps' handbook CD Rom for 2003-4
- various materials relating to updates in
membership.

Are you a school rep?
We are pleased to say that we have Reps in the
overwhelming majority of our schools. If you do not know who your rep is,
please contact us.
If you are in one of the few schools without a rep,
perhaps you could approach the reast of the NUT membership in your school and
consider being the rep.
Did you realise that the local NUT branch is able to
help all members that much more effectively if there is a named contact at the
school in question?
If you are the rep, please inform Ray Sirotkin on:

Management
Problems?
To be fair, most managements,
particularly in the Primary Schools are very reasonable and supportive.
However, problems arise on numerous issues that require support for teachers.
So far this year, the most frequent calls have been in relation
to
We can provide advice in hard
copy format and on this site. However, there reaches a point when the union
must negotiate with the head simply to ensure that the members rights are
upheld. One major responsibiluity of the rep is to contact the Division - us -
to ensure that that happens. We can always come in and talk to members about
the issues concerned.
So, do get in
